I believe that anyone can learn anything given the right tools and approach. Medicine is a deeply active subject and we love to teach! My neuroscience background has given me the tools to tackle some of the deeper questions we have about the human brain through biology, chemistry and physics based approaches.
I offer a casual engaging style of teaching where I'll assess your baseline knowledge and help answer and build upon the subject so you (hopefully) fall in love with the complexity and beauty of the world around us.
For those who are thinking of, or in the process of, applying for medicine, I know how daunting and competitive it is. I can help you from an academic standpoint, motivational and work experience tips to help you get through the process and nail that ever important interview. (trust me, the work is worth it!)
I am a mature medical student studying graduate medicine at the University of Nottingham. I hold a BSc in Medical Neuroscience from the University of Sussex and am looking to pass on my knowledge to aspiring scientists and doctors of all backgrounds. I sat the BMAT, UCAT and GAMSAT in one cycle amongst writing my final year dissertation and understand the stress and time management behind medical school applications.
Due to Covid restrictions and nature of the workload of a medical degree I can offer lessons online only at the moment. Cancellations with less than 24hrs notice will result in a £10 surcharge being added to your next lesson. Cancellations with over 24hrs incur no cost. Within your first couple of lessons we will establish what work you aim to cover, what I can help with and estimates on time to ensure a fair and transparent working arrangement and provide structure for learning from the start.
Highly motivated and robust team player strong skills in maintaining external relationships working closely with colleagues and patients. I can provide the balance between an excellent diplomat and communicator with strong interpersonal and technical skills, both in teaching and learning. Especially where in depth or attention to detail is most important.
I can bring friendly and unbiased advice and support with patient safety and wellbeing as priority, as well as a mixture of logical and creative approaches to academic challenges. I am constantly researching areas of medicine, in particular neuroscience and traumatic brain injury.
