Time to combine - Bharathanatyam, Bhangra, Gaana and Bollywood into one.
My lessons aim to be fun and useful. My lessons will start with fun warm ups followed by small routines which are taught during the lesson. I aim to collaborate different styles into my choreo so students are experiencing a new version of Indian dance altogether.
Each lesson, a new routine will be taught so you will not be missing out if you miss one lesson. Come along and try out Indian dance as a fusion of some of the best styles India has to offer!
Praveena has coached me in various different dance styles, including Bharathanatyam and Gaana. I feel that her friendly, but firm, approach has helped me, not only improve in my art, but also grow into myself as a dancer. She gives encouragements and criticisms where neccessary. Her talents and creativity reflects well in her choreography and teaching methods, and she tailors both her coaching and feedback to suit the talents and personality of each individual dancer. She remains my biggest encouragement in the continuing pursuit of my dance participation.
I am trained in Bharathanatyam with more than 15 years of experience, and having completed my Post diploma with a distinction. Over the past 5 years I have also been training in Gaana, Bhangra and Bollywood. I am currently the lead Gaana choreographer at the University of Birmingham. I am also part of the University of Birmingham Bhangra and Bollywood teams.
I have been teaching both bharathanatyam and Gaana for the past 5 to 6 years now and having been doing performances in all styles for several years.
I have taught students ranging form the ages of 3 all the way up to 25.
