The only way to learn a language is by speaking it. Whatever your level, the more you try the more you will improve!
Whether your English is:
- beginner, intermediate or advanced
- formal or informal
I will be able to help!
First we will get to know each other and establish your level of oral English. Then we can discuss what you want from our lessons so that I can tailor the experience to suit you.
Homework is important. But it’s better if we call it ‘practice’. Not too much - just a little every day.
The most important thing is finding a style that suits your learning needs. The second most important thing is talking, talking, talking!
I am a history graduate with two years’ ESL teaching experience in China. I have taught students of all ages - individuals, groups and classes.
I trained to teach English in Beijing, China. Then I moved to Yantai in Shandong Province where I specialised in preparing students for the IELTS exam, specifically oral English but also reading, writing and comprehension. Students of mine have passed the exam and gone on to live around the world, studying at major international universities.
After that I moved to Wuhan, Hubei, and taught English to non-English majors. My focus was on conversational English.
I am a kind and patient teacher! I understand the difficulty of learning a new language and can shape lessons to your personal need.
I knew Paul seven year ago in my english class, he was a wonderful person with professional teaching skills, he knew how to teach English in a way which is easy for students to understand and acquire, he was patient and cared about students. His classes were not just language itself but also full of British culture and history, which further motivated me to study abroad to explore the world. It was through his classes that I was fully in love with the language and making real progress. Without any reservation, I strongly recommend his classes because he is such a good teacher. After all these years, we still keep in touch and I really appreciate his help!
I taught alongside Paul in China and I cannot recommend him enough. He is a dedicated teacher who takes the time to understand his students' needs and explain things in a clear manner, while also keeping classes fun and engaging. He has a great rapport with students and an excellent understanding of the English language and of how best to teach it to non-native learners.
