My main instruments are trombone and euphonium but I have sufficient knowledge and experience to teach trumpet, cornet and tenor horn up to grade 5.

I'm willing to teach at my home or your home, whichever you are happiest with. I will travel in London providing I can get to you within, or under, 45 minutes on public transport.
My flat is15 minutes walk from Greenwich station, 10 minutes walk from Deptford station and the 188 and 199 bus services stop at the top of my road.

I have experience teaching and coaching a variety of ages ranging from 7 years of age up to mid-60's so everybody is welcome, it's never too late to start learning!
I will teach trombone to professional standard, baritone and euphonium to grade 7 and cornet, trumpet, tenor horn up to grade 5. I am happy teaching early theory too.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for Trinity Guildhall and Associated Board music exams at their request.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I began playing brass instruments aged 9 years and progressed through cornet and tenor horn studies until I settled on trombone aged 14 years. I was awarded a place at Trinity College of Music which I gratefully accepted and am in the final year of my course now.
For the past year I have been teaching for Abbey Schools Catchment Area (ASCA) music service in Cambridgeshire. I am a peripatetic teacher and have taught a variety of brass instruments and beginner piano in 3 schools in the area.
Prior to my studies in London I played for a brass band which had a junior ensemble and I coached them whilst their regular tutor was ill for around a year. During my studies I have been invited as a deputy musical director to conduct and coach Abbey College Concert Band and Chatteris Town Band respectively which have given me experience with larger ensembles and mixed age groups.
Aside from my teaching I have a wide variety of performing experience and have played in all of the Trinity Laban orchestras, both big bands and many external orchestras which have included involvement with the Young Musician's Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Brass ensembles of various sizes (quartets, quintets and dectets) also form part of my playing experience and I perform regularly with, and manage, the Royal Greenwich Brass Band. Most recently I have toured to Chennai, India with an orchestra promoting the soundtrack to Indian Tamil film "Neethaane En Ponvasantham" written by renowned Indian composer Ilaiyaraaja.
