Michelle - Tettenhall - Support for Students with a handicap

Methodology

I am fully qualified premium teacher of Special Needs/Music with a Masters/P.G.C.E. and run my own private special needs and music company 'Calm Seas' and I'm looking for new pupils. I believe in giving students the best possible education.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I have a wealth of experience in Special Needs teaching in the classroom and home tuition with children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, in particular but have also worked with children with autism, hearing impairments and Downs syndrome.I have a very calm and relaxed approach and feel I can focus on specific pupil's needs.I can also teach music (instrumental and theory) through to A level and can also offer French from beginners through to G.C.S.E. level, English, Maths.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a Masters degree in Special Needs and I am also a qualified classroom teacher (P.G.C.E.) and have a music degree from Dartington College of Arts.

I am also trained in the following area: CALM Training Module 1 and 2 and have a current safeguarding certificate (24/5/15)

- How much do you charge?

I charge up to £40 p/hr plus travel ( If over 10 miles) but discounts are offered on block bookings (. 5 lessons = £35 p/hr plus travel, 10 lessons = £30 p/hr plus travel). I am also introducing a new offer whereby new students pay a reduced rate for their first 5 lessons ( £35 p/hr plus travel). My fees are fairly high but that is reflected in my qualifications and experience. Please read the testimonials on my website. Initial consultations can be set up to discuss student's needs before proceeding with lessons.

Andrea- Deputy Head

Michelle has taught my girls violin and piano for over 7 years. My eldest daughter has emotional needs and Michelle has been very sensitive and creative to meet her needs. The girls enjoy their lessons and enjoy playing.

M
Mrs Raiyat

Michelle teaches my son who has moderate learning difficulties and autism and has progressed so much through her lessons. He is more confident at school and his knowledge in various subjects and his speech is improving too. I would recommend Michelle as an excellent teacher and a very trustworthy person.

Thank you so much for all the years and hard work you've put into teaching me the violin. It has been a great experience and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Your lessons have helped me to develop my skill, confidence and wider musical knowledge. I will continue playing and I won't let the skills you've taught me go to waste. Thank you again and best wishes for the future!
