I am a freelance trumpet player and passionate teacher based in London, and have recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach trumpet/cornet and can prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall exams. I specialise in jazz, and am able to teach improvisation and jazz harmony in addition to 'classical' music. I can also teach piano/keyboard, jazz piano, jazz theory/composition (to any instrumentalist/singer), Music Theory (to any instrumentalist/singer) and Musicianship (to any instrumentalist/singer).
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, completing my Bmus (Hons) degree with a first. I was also awarded a Concert Recital Diploma for a high performance level.
- How much do you charge?
I usually charge the following to teach from my home:
£50 for 2 hours
£40 for 1h 30m
£30 for 1 hour
£25 for 30m
I offer a £5 discount for your first lesson, and there may be additional travel expenses if you would rather i travel to you.
- Where do you teach?
I am happy to teach from home or at the student's homes, and am prepared to travel to most of London, although extra travel costs may be added to the fee. This can be confirmed via email or phone call before lessons.
- When are you available?
I am available to teach between 9am and 9pm most days of the week (including weekends). I am flexible with with my time.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach all ages. For Trumpet/Cornet, Jazz Theory/Composition and Jazz Trumpet I can teach all standards - beginers to advanced. For Jazz Piano, Keyboard, Music Theory and Musicianship, I am happy to teach beginers to an intermediate level.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall Exams if desired, and I am also happy to teach people who just want to learn for fun.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I am passionate about sharing musical knowledge, and am enthusiastic about finding the best methods of practice and learning for students.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been performing at a professional level in London for the past four years and have a wealth of experience in many different fields including Modern Jazz, Traditional Jazz, Big Band, Pop and Funk. I have also done numerous recording sessions at studios such as Abbey Road, and performed at various top jazz clubs in London including Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express, 606 and The Vortex. I have experience in teaching trumpet, jazz trumpet and jazz piano to children and young adults, as well as running brass sectionals for children's orchestras.

- Where and with whom did you train?
Whilst studying at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, I learned trumpet with Anne McAneney, Paul Archibald and Noel Langley. I studied jazz with Nick Smart, Robbie Robson, Martin Hathaway, Carlos Lopez-Real, Malcolm Edmonstone and Malcolm Miles.
