About Miriam

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been a freelance teacher for 6 years, and have experience teaching both individual and group lessons of all standards, as well as teaching children with behavioural difficulties. I have coached young chamber groups, and given workshops on ensemble playing. My own ensemble has been involved in the Wigmore Hall Chamber Tots Series, giving workshops and recitals aimed at the very young. Last year, I volunteered for Hackney Music service, shadowing teachers in whole class teaching, ensemble leading, and group lessons.
As a chamber musician and soloist I have performed at numerous venues and events across the UK, including Wigmore Hall, Wilton's Music Hall, Eton College, The Foundling Museum, LSO St. Luke's, Goldsmiths Hall, Christchurch Spitalfields, Kings Place, Greenwich International Early Music Festival and The London Handel Festival. So far in 2012, I have been a finalist in the prestigious Needlemaker's Woodwind Prize, and won a Musician's Benevolent Fund Postgraduate Performance Award for woodwind. I was also featured in the New London Orchestra's Young Artists Concerts Series as a soloist, and won the June Emerson Launchpad Prize as a chamber musician.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

No, but I can arrange one if necessary.

- Where and with whom did you train?

I am currently training with Ian Wilson, Robert Ehrlich and Pamela Thorby at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
