Hi!
I am Oana and I have recently completed a master's degree in physical oceanography after having studied physics as an undergraduate.
I have discovered a passion for science because my teachers guided me through the abstract ideas and problem-solving techniques with patience and enthusiasm; these are two qualities that I can also bring to our tutorials for anyone who is interested to learn more about maths and physics up to undergraduate level.
Lessons will be tailored to your goals (e.g. exams or improving your grades). These will generally be a mix of explaining fundamental concepts and working together through a set of questions. We will go through derivations and problems together and I will do my best to find examples and applications of the theories we're looking at to keep you motivated.
From my experience as a tutee, I found it very useful when I handed in a piece of work and then had it marked with plenty of comments. Although I strongly encourage homework for our tutorials, it will be subject to your time and willingness.
So far, I have only been an 'unofficial' tutor, explaining physical concepts or mathematical methods to my colleagues.
I also had very good tutors during my undergraduate degree and from them, I learned how beneficial these meetings are for grasping challenging topics.
