I'm quite old fashioned when it comes to teaching: I will request from students all the points they wish to cover in a lesson in advance so that I can prepare written notes which we will then go through in the lesson. I follow this up by providing example questions to make sure that the student fully understands the concepts and methods explained.
Ultimately, the trick to improving one's English is to practice it consistently. Students are therefore encouraged to put their insecurities aside and talk as much as possible during lessons.
As a multi-mother-tongued linguist, I help a wide range of students to improve their English. Please note that I only teach British English (not American). I'm a Venture Capitalist by day, and a tutor by night.
Bachelors at the King's College London
Masters at the London School of Economics
6 years' experience in teaching: pronunciation, grammar, business English, ESOL, and etiquette.
Students range from those who speak hardly any English (there's a high chance that I speak your native tongue) to Native speakers who would like to practice business-writing and presentation skills.
Every student has different needs and we can discuss adjustments to price depending on the complexity of these needs.
When I decided to learn how to play the violin I knew it was gonna be somewhat hard but Benedict made that process wayy much easier. I'm still learning but, he’s the best music teacher I've came across so far. He understand your pace and you needs, works with you 100% with effectiveness and gives you the time to truly understand a topic before moving on to the next one. After only three lessons, I was already able to play a song! (kinda). He won't be the person to be upset if you tell him ”i didn't practice this week” so I was never afraid to be honest and show my real self while learning! But NEVER forget to practice, it's always good to keep revising so you get better at what you know! Would totally recommend lessons from him! He’s very kind and totally funny, was able to ease the tension at my first lesson as I was very nervous! And the price is also very affordable given the fact that it's an hour long :))
Benny got me up-to-speed for my Corporate Finance exam - got a 1sts thanks to him! Very straight-forward but takes time to make sure that you understand everything and dedicates a lot of extra time outside of lessons. 10/10!
Benedict otherwise known as Benny to us now, has now given half a dozen lessons to my daughter. She very much enjoys her lessons and feels encouraged by him. I have heard a significant improvement in my daughter's violin playing since her lessons with Benny which I think our cat would agree with as he doesn't leave the room now when she plays. I would definitely recommend Benedict as a violin teacher.
Benedict is a very approachable and reliable person who invests a lot of time and effort into tailored lessons and in all that he does. He has extensive knowledge and experience in his field of classical music - I would definitely recommend him to anyone and to all my friends who might need help with violin instrumental training, music history or music theory. I am confident that he will be beneficial to anybody's fulfilment in musical education, and am thankful to have met him.
Benedict did a great job. My skills were far from perfect when we started lessons. We had 10 classes and I felt confident enough to perform in my school. Plus he is a very kind and understanding person. I know I will keep improving with Benedict, thank you
A wonderfully eccentric and patient violin teacher, I looked forward to every session and actually learned to love practice! I have absolutely no talent for music but luckily he does and I saw my level of play and musical literacy improve through his care and craft.
Benedict is a musician with great humor and real talent. Thanks to him, my son has achieved a distinction in his Abrsm diploma in violin this summer. I will not hesitate to recommend him to others. Thanks !
Benny is a wonderful teacher with 'creative' flair. The man had me playing the first few bars of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto in just a short 45mins. Highly recommend.
I met Benny through my university (King's College London) where he was studying music. He has been a great supporter of my musical career ever since. He is a funny, patient, yet very disciplined tutor. Thank you Benny!
