My teaching methods include a combination of musical theory, practice. I try to make associations to each student so that they remember better the theory.
I am a musician/ sound engineer starting my Master's degree in September which is on Music, mind and brain and one of its focus is music perception. I have been giving private music lessons for five years to both to undergraduate students and younger ages.
With regards to my music education background, from a young age I started learning how to write musical notes and later on I also started to play the piano and the violin. I graduated in 2010 from the musical high school (General Lyceum, Serres, Greece) where we were taught about music and music theory from different periods and styles. At the same time I got my music theory diploma which enabled me to further my knowledge in music. I got my Bachelors degree on Sound Engineering last year, with the focus of my thesis being music composition using contemporary methods on pc (the exact title is: System design and development for music composition in the Max/MSP environment using machine listening techniques). Last, this year I got a music therapy certificate which helped me get into my Master's degree at Goldsmiths (the title of the course is Music, Mind and Brain). As to my experience as a music theory teacher, I have helped a lot of students during my undergraduate years to pass some important music theory exams.
