My teaching method is based on a climbing frame. I feel it is important to have a structure for pupils/ students to follow that allows them to build on their past and current achievements to allow them to continue to improve and grow as a player. I aim to keep lessons fun and interesting and do this by using active learning techniques.
I am currently a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying the Music Teaching course. I have been teaching for over 6 years now and have a range of experience from primary and secondary classroom teaching with a range of classroom instruments from keyboard to drum kit as well as one to one lessons teaching bagpipes.
Depending on how far travel is a travel fee may be arranged. Happy for lessons to be rearranged to avoid cancellations.
I am presently a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying the Music Bachelor of Education course. I am currently in my third year of university going into my final year after summer 2018. I feel that my course has given me the opportunity to see how I handle new challenges as I am continuously working with different ages of children and adults in order to develop my teaching skills. I have enjoyed this year on my course and feel that it has improved how I approach new challenges and given me a better understanding of how to deal with certain age groups of children in order for them to be responsive. I am an enthusiastic and confident individual. I was previously a pupil at Stirling High School where in my senior years I was a school prefect and deputy head girl as well as being President of Stirling Young Curlers. I have previously been Pipe Major for a junior band as well as secretary for the school pupil council.
