I like to try combine various aspects into my lessons, we will usually begin with scales as these are the foundations of building good technique as well as learning basic theory. Then the main focus of the lesson will be looking at pieces. This will involve me teaching how to read notes, practice skills and any other things the student may need help with. I also like to include aural skills exercise in order to help develop the students inner ear. This is my basic teaching method however if a student has something of their own they would like to work on such as pop music I am more than happy to adapt the lesson to suit them.
I have been playing piano for over 12 years, I have my grade 8 and I'm currently in second year at university of Manchester studying music. I have been tutoring for 1 year in which I have helped one student achieve her grade 2 and another her grade 3.
I do half an hour lessons for £10, and my travel costs may vary depending how close you are to me
