I prefer to be in the water with all my clients, whether I am conducting a 1 to 1 or group session as I personally demonstrations extremely useful for technique and stroke development. This also means I can support less confident swimmers more easily. I do not hire out lanes, however I will find quiet pool spaces and will base my hours around both clients' personal convenience and less busy pool hours in order to enable more efficient learning. Practical experience and routine are key to learning to swim and increasing speed and stamina so the majority of lesson time will be spent swimming. Video feedback may also be used to allow students gain further perspective of their stroke work if this is chosen.
I started swimming lessons when I was 6 years old and have almost 8 years experience in club swimming. I have been an assistant coach for my club's entry level squad (aqua learn level 8) for a year. Although I do not have any teaching or coaching qualifications, I am a qualified lifeguard, however I may not have the necessary skills to teach somebody to learn to swim from scratch. Clients will preferably be able to swim at least 15m unaided.
