My lessons are friendly, relaxed and tailored exactly to what the student requires. I always discuss the needs of my students very carefully and aim to build their confidence which is one of the most important things when learning a new language. I am very patient and enjoy helping my pupils learn and use the language. I try to encourage a genuine interest in the language and the culture of the country and try to incorporate information about literature, art, science, film, architecture and cuisine.
Hello, I am a native Russian speaker with a degree in Literature and Linguistics from Lomonosov Moscow State University. I have a wide experience of working with students of different ages and levels, in small groups or on an individual basis.
My wide range of interests and life circumstances took me on many different paths: I’ve got a MA in Music Industry Innovation and Enterprise from University of Chichester, BA in Polish language and literature from Lomonosov’s Moscow State University and a diploma from University of Warsaw. I have worked since the age of 16, initially in my native Russia and subsequently in Poland, Afghanistan and in the UK. My jobs have included working as an interpreter (Russian-Polish and Russian-English; as a researcher for the Russian Academy of Sciences Sociology Department (Moscow); as an art teacher at Montessori school in Kabul, and as a project manager for a highly successful media development company in Afghanistan. I worked as an interpreter, an art teacher; a language tutor; set up an independent media company, an independent award winning book store and an independent music promotion company which has recently secured Arts Council recognition. I am experienced in administration, event and concert promotion and artist management.
I have experienced teaching and mentoring profession from several angles as a domestic student in Russia and an international student in Poland and the UK which is now my home. I have thought different subjects to students of different ages in several countries. Although I am a qualified literature and language tutor, sharing information in general is one of my passions. As an avid learner myself I can see the mechanisms behind both teaching and learning and the process from both teacher's and students' perspectives. I have a lifelong love of learning and dedicate every free moment to studying something new either online, via podcasts or books, or through interacting with the people around me. I multitask by listening to Coursera lectures while working on my illustrations and paper installations. Learning and creating are my life-time passions and constitute some of the most satisfying experiences for me. I am naturally curious, driven, and resilient and have a wide range of interests from music, design, art, craft to sciences such as astronomy, neuroscience, psychology, and behavioural economics. Over the years of studying, volunteering, working in different organisations based in different countries and running my own businesses I've acquired a number of transferrable skills that include management, leadership, planning, strategic thinking, problem solving, decision-making, mentoring, pedagogy and language skills. Currently I work in self-employed capacity, accept new students and commissions and happy to be a part of exciting projects.
