About Renato
Hi, I'm Renato — a native Spanish speaker originally from Cuba, now based in Birmingham, UK.
Spanish isn't just my first language — it's the language I think in, dream in, and have used every day of my life. That natural fluency is something no textbook can replicate, and it's exactly what I bring to every lesson.
Professionally, I hold an MSc in Finance and Investment (First Class) from Birmingham City University, which speaks to the discipline and structured thinking I apply to everything I do — including how I teach. I understand what it means to learn something challenging from the ground up, and I bring that same patience and clarity to my students.
I've worked in international, multicultural environments where clear communication across languages genuinely mattered. That real-world experience shapes how I teach — practically, purposefully, and always with the student's goals at the centre.
Whether you're a complete beginner nervous about saying your first word, or an intermediate learner frustrated by the plateau, I'll meet you exactly where you are. My lessons are structured, but never rigid — professional, but never intimidating.

How I teach:
I combine conversational practice with targeted grammar work, so you're always making progress without it feeling like a classroom. I use real-life scenarios, guided speaking exercises, and instant feedback to help things stick naturally.
Lesson length:
Most sessions run 60 minutes, though 45-minute slots are available for those with tighter schedules.
Experience:
I'm a native Spanish speaker with a background in business and finance, which means I can also cover professional and business Spanish if that's relevant to you.
