I like to make the lessons as personal as possible by asking the student what particular areas they would like to cover. If the gap in knowledge is theoretical we cover the topic and then proceed to try and apply that to potential exam questions on the topic. I like to try and make sure my tutees have a very good understanding of a topic and not just the knowledge of how to answer an exam question on it, because then if an unusual question comes up, they’ll be much better prepared to answer it.
