I currently give lessons to GCSE students and try to include the student in the lesson as much as possible, My lessons are tailored to the student and we focus on what they wish to study or what they are currently learning in class. I begin each lesson with a bit of teaching - sticking to their GCSE specification - before we move on to looking at exam style questions. I try to get to a point in the lesson wehre the student is able to answer a past paper exam question on their own with no support.
I am a student at Durham University and I have been tutoring for the past years. I have taught over 20 students on different platforms such as MyTutor and I was also hired by my school when I was studying for my A Levels to help a group of GCSE science students. All students I have taught enjoy their lessons and have gone on to achieve a 4/5 (or C) and above.
