My teaching method is adapted to the personality type and desired outcomes of whoever I am working with. We will begin by getting to know each other and figuring out which types of meditation are best suited to your current and future goals.
My goal is to teach you the methods that will give you the biggest impact in your life as quickly as possible, and empower you to practice effectively on your own. In working together, you will quickly see improvements in many aspects of your life. In your feeling of wellbeing and happiness, your ability to focus and perform, a reduction of negative mind states such as stress, anxiety and anger and improvements in other areas such as relationships and health.
My approach is rooted in a scientific understanding of the brain as a plastic organ that we can train. Unsurprisingly, the techniques that are most effective at this are the ones that have stood the test of time. Depending on your goals and experience we will work together with concentration techniques, vipassana, metta/loving-kindness, non-dual pointing and other methods. What is best suited to you will change over time, something I can help you identify and adapt to.
I look forward to continuing in our journeys together!
I am a qualified meditation teacher (taught and endorsed by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach) and am currently a visiting researcher at UCL where I am investigating the neuroscience of consciousness under Prof Karl Friston. My academic interest is in developing a scientific understanding of the mechanisms of meditation which I hope will contribute to the adoption of meditation by the mainstream. Meanwhile I have been teaching meditation for almost 2 years to beginners and established meditators alike.
