About the lesson
I am a friendly music teacher based in East London. Whilst I am classically trained in composition, I also have a passion for pop music and jazz, and my lessons are tailored to the interests of my students.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
In my lessons I always try to find an angle which suits the student and reflects their interests, and I have developed an approach that encourages an understanding and appreciation of the building blocks of music. Whether you want to learn classical piano, music theory, or you want to learn rock guitar and do a bit of songwriting, I can build a lesson plan and teaching style to suit you. I teach classical or jazz piano, pop/rock or folk guitar, and theory and musicianship. I also offer GCSE and A Level tuition.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I qualified with As in GCSE and A level music before going on to complete a BMus in Music Composition from Trinity Laban conservatoire of Music and Dance. I have grade 8 ABRSM classical piano, and am self-taught on guitar. I have been playing acoustic and electric guitar for over ten years in various rock/pop projects gigging in and around London.
- How much do you charge?
My rates are £20 for an hour or £15 for half an hour plus travel expenses (maximum £5).
- Where do you teach?
I am able to teach in students' homes all over London, or alternatively at my home in Limehouse, East London.
- When are you available?
I am able to teach at a variety of times to suit the student. This includes daytimes/evenings during the week and during the day on weekends. Please enquire for further details.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach students of all ages. I teach instrumental lessons at beginner to intermediate level, and theory/musicianship lessons to and advanced level.
