I have experience teaching younger children as young as 4 to play the piano. I especially enjoy teaching beginners as it remind me of when I initially fell in love with music but am happy to help students of all levels. My teaching method completely would depend on the student, all individuals learn in a different way and enjoy different styles of music. I believe it is the student's decision as to what musical pieces they would rather study and would encourage them to find a style of music that they enjoy as it is easier to learn when you are having fun.
I started playing the piano at 6 years of age, I tried several different instruments including the harp and the drums. Continued playing the piano throughout GCSE in secondary school (Which I was graded an A* for my two piano performance pieces), also have experience in playing at weddings. Now I currently am a second year nursing student.
For the first lesson I would like to meet the student; see their level of skill; determine what help they require and get to know the student, this initial meeting would take an additional 15-20 minutes on top of the hour session but no additional costs to the hourly set rate.
