My teaching method is largely dependent on how I can see the student learning best. I have a practical approach and find that engaging repetition involving the environment we are in best mimics the natural language learning of being immersed in a place. I will mainly speak Nepali to you, and you'll pick it up faster than you'd think. I also have textbooks, recordings and contacts to connect with so you can try out your skills with native speakers.
I have been doing some sort of teaching/tuition inside and privately for over a year now. I have experience in teaching illiterate Nepali Natives to read and write the language and am now excited to offer my English insight into helping others learn the language after returning from Nepal.

Volunteer Teacher – Project Trust | Full Time: Aug 2017 – Aug 2018 |
Taught English and OPT according to the syllabus to students in classes 1,2,3,4,5 and 7. Less formally filled in for absent staff in Maths, Nepali reading, Science and Social classes as my language skills developed. Outside of school hours ran 1:1 tuition sessions, after and before school clubs and child-minding for local parents during evenings and early mornings. Successfully improved English grades across the board. Organized and led a day-course/program on hygiene for all students and staff. I exercised initiative in reorganizing the student record system and in leading occasional, electricity dependent IT sessions for staff on basic Excel. During this time I taught alone in the classroom, which has shown me capable and confident in taking on large amounts of responsibility with minimal supervision.
Wrote the 5 year progress assessment report for the Nepalese Ministry of Education outlining the successes and shortcomings of the NGO and a plan for the years to come. This involved conducting interviews in both English and Nepali, researching into grade statistics of current and previous years and comparing the NGOs strategies and philosophies with Nepalese Government Initiatives and Strategies. This report was successful and lead to the continuation of PT work in Nepal.
