I am able to teach any level required by the student, including low and high levels.
I believe it’s important to give the students the theory needed for them to understand the topics and then making them apply their knowledge by practising through activities. Feedback is received where the student is able to reflect on their performance and adjust any mistakes. I also think it’s essential to challenge students by making them think by themselves and come up with solutions without help. Of course, if that doesn’t work then help is given step by step in order to make sure the student is understanding everything perfectly. This could be done by giving hints. I like this approach as it doesn’t just give the answer to the student, it makes them work and think for it.
I am also passionate about making the lessons fun and interactive so students don’t get bored. I think this is important because when students are bored they are less likely to pay attention.
The methodology also depends on what the student likes and what they feel comfortable with.
I am a university student at University of Leeds. I have lived in Spain for 7 years which makes me fluent in the language. I can also do a Spanish accent so the pronunciation of words is accurate. My qualifications include grade 9 (equivalent to A*) in Spanish GCSE and A* in Spanish A level.
My experience comes from mentoring younger students who were studying Spanish during my 3 A level years. I assisted many students and I am glad to say all of them were capable of achieving top grades in their GCSEs and top grades in their class work (younger students). I was also a teacher assistant for Spanish lessons.
