Often I will tailor a one to one class around my students, whatever their weakness/strength I will use a combination of visual/oral/written techniques to help a student remember the new words and phrases they have learned in each class. At the beginning of each class I will also review the previous class words and sentences, to ensure the information has been retained.
I am an English as a second language teacher who has recently moved back to the UK from Mainland China. I have experience teaching learners in person, in a group setting, one to one and online in both group and VIP settings.
Rates may vary dependent on distance, age, and type of lesson required. Younger learners may also require a shorter class, whereas more experienced English speakers may benefit from a longer class.
English Teacher October 2017–October 2019
I taught English as a second language to children aged between 2-16. Planned lessons for classes of 10-20 children and VIP classes of 1-3 children. There were children of different age groups and abilities, so I prepared flashcards for words and sentences, as well as games, videos, and hand craft activities for each class to aide learning. Larger classes were planned from a course syllabus dependant on the age group. VIP students choose their own course materials, so each class was tailored to their needs. Whilst at SSE I spent two years teaching a young boy with learning difficulties, on a VIP basis and as part of a group class. He required extra attention and help, I quickly learned different ways to help him and others with similar disabilities adjust to being in group situations, engage and learn more in class. As an English teacher I was also required to complete demo classes, preview classes and plan activities for any western holidays to introduce new cultures and ideas to the children. As part of my training I also completed my Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate.
