We host the best tutors. Quality of their profile, experience in their field. Valerio will be happy to arrange your first lesson.
I believe everyone has a unique and beautiful voice and that there should be no absolute standard of a “perfect” voice. We can all make choices about what we want to sound like, as long as we keep our voice healthy and we are conscious of the options we have with it. My job as a vocal coach is to help you find your own voice and give you the tools to gain confidence and improve your technique, based on what your needs are.
The usual structure of the lesson includes a warm up and some vocal exercises for the first 15 minutes, followed by the study of a song of your choice or suggested by me, analysing what you need to improve in it and choosing what kind of stylistic choices to apply on it.
My lessons include:
Good posture and core support
Expansion of range
Use of head, mixed and chest voice
I am a professional singer/songwriter and performer and I have been using my voice professionally for more than 15 years.
I started studying in Italy with opera singer Angela Bucci and jazz/soul singer Silvia Gollini in Rome and then continued in London where I have lived for the last 8 years, taking lessons with Charlotte Xerri and musical theatre singers Adam Pettigrew and Claire Greenway.
I have completed the Estill Voice Model Training level 1 and 2 with Charlotte Xerri and I have a diploma in Music Theory, Harmony and Sight Reading from A. Casella Conservatory of L’Aquila, Italy.
I have also studied classical, jazz and pop piano with Francesca Aloisi for 10 years.
I have extensive experience both as a professional teacher for kids and adults in all genres (pop, jazz, classical and musical theatre), for individuals or groups. My lessons are fun and engaging and they’re tailored to the individuals’ needs. Using a wide range of exercises and techniques we work on a repertoire chosen by the student or myself, aiming to improve confidence, revealing and developing your own voice, working on range, support, style and vocal colours.
Perfect! Valerio sets an excellent example with his obvious skill and talent. To be honest I wasn't quite sure what to expect and my confidence was low as I've never been tutored in anything before. Valerio turned my concerns upside down thanks to his knowledge and patience. I'm looking forward to our future lessons and I hope I don't let him down!
Perfect! Very responsive and immediately offered a promotion when I gave the back story on my gift, thank you Valerio
Perfect! Valerio is an extremely talented singer and very thorough tutor. First impact has been great and I am sure will get even better in the next sessions!
Perfect! I had a wonderful experience learning from Valerio. He is very technically knowledgeable while also understanding the musicality of the voice - being a musician himself. I have benefited a lot from the short time we spent together, and am looking forward to more lessons!
Perfect! I am very grateful for the patience shown by Valerio. I am already an admirer of his craft as a singer and a musician, but his teaching ability commands equal applause and recommendation.

I am a professional pianist and musical director and I met Valerio when he was a Pride's Got Talent finalist in 2017. I have since hugely admired his singer-songwriter work and more recently asked him for singing lessons to help build up confidence with performing my own singer-songwriter material. He has helped me immensely so far and has an excellent understanding of vocal technique. He's also very intuitive, good at tailoring the lessons to you specifically and knowing exactly what will help - he can point out even one small thing and I'll suddenly have a 'lightbulb' moment/singing breakthrough! Valerio also has a lovely approach and the lessons are very enjoyable - I would highly recommend him. Sarah
I met Valerio this year as he was my vocal tutor in the group singing lessons for beginners at City Academy. He made such a good impression on me that I decided to take on private singing lessons with him. Valerio has helped me improve my confidence and I have gained great understanding of my vocal style and range. Valerio is very knowledgeable, easy-going and open-minded, with a great sense of humour. Classes are fun and varied since I get to choose my own repertoire, from pop and musical theatre to more traditional music in my native language (Spanish). Due to the current pandemic, we started having online lessons and I must say that they have become one of the highlights of my week!
Valerio Is an excellent teacher, he manages to take care of your voice respecting your style and your technique explaining all the dynamics that imply the correct use of the elements of singing. I'm very pleased to take lessons with him.
I have a musical background having been classically trained on the piano (19 years) and violin (7 years), so singing wasn't completely alien to me. Yet, thanks to his deep understanding of the human voice (both musically- and biologically-speaking), Valerio cuts deep into the core of my issues and pinpoints exactly on what I need to improve. Valerio provides many extremely useful tips to developing the techniques that any good singer must possess, and does so in a very patient and soft-spoken manner. You will be in safe hands.

Well, my parents were both singers and played in the marching band of my hometown, while also singing in a small choir in which they sang traditional Italian folk songs. So I was basically born with it! My favourite instrument is the voice, but I also love the piano a lot!
Definitely! I love chamber pop, baroque pop and folk. At the top of the list I have Sufjan Stevens and Regina Spektor, but I do love a Christina Aguilera every now and then!
I think the hardest thing to learn is that it's allowed to make mistakes. There is so much pressure about sounding "beautiful", so we tend to withdraw, stopping us from trying. The best lesson is to learn that we may sound "ugly" from time to time and that if only we let ourselves see our flaws, we can then correct them. It sounds simple, but it's really not when dealing with insecurities and with a society that puts so much aesthetical value to the voice!
Probably the voice. The fact that we can't see it's keys makes it really hard to visualise and master every little part of it. Science doesn't even explain all of it, so most of the methods are based on metaphors and sensations, rather than "play C with finger 3". It can take days or weeks to understand one little movement, and it's all a matter of being mindful and finding the right way to hear and reproduce a sound, and finding the right feeling inside the throat.
But also, I've held a violin in my hands a few times and I really can't see myself learning any soon!!
Determination and passion. We have to want success. Getting there can be quite frustrating, and it's only if we really love what we do that we can fight the frustration and achieve what we need to!
I wouldn't probably be in a bar in the early hours of the morning! But I would definitely love to meet Regina Spektor for a little songwriting session, Alanis Morissette to have a chat about psychology and self-development (and to braid each other's hair) and Sara Bareilles to get a singing lesson from her!
I'm not sure about a particular moment, but definitely one of the most important lessons I've learned is that to progress in music and to love this job, we have to surround ourselves with likeminded people. We need constant inspiration and stimulation from the people around us to keep going. Having musician friends can help creativity and motivation. In the moment of struggle, they understand what you're going through. When you achieve something, they completely understand what it means for you and will rejoice with you.
I have a holistic approach to music. We can't separate it from our soul and emotion. This is valid for any instrument, but it is especially true for the voice. Most vocal issues come from internal blocks, and learning to use the voice correctly can help unlock them, and viceversa, finding those blocks in our life can help developing our voice in ways we didn't think were possible. Having an understanding of this helps me deal with different vocal issues in a mindful way, sometimes including little mindfulness exercises in my lessons to help grounding and centering, always considering the whole of the person and not the instrument they are playing (or singing).
