Be goal oriented, with a certain drive and devotion and possess loads of passion. The first thing I like to establish is your experience and skill level. From there, we can cover fundamentals like dialogue, story arcs, narratives, formatting and script documentation. If you have no experience in this field but a lot of enthusiasm, we can set out a plan that will give you all the fundamental abilities you need to work towards a script of your own creation. If you are a more experienced writer with a script underway or a film student, who needs more knowledge and guidance to bring it into completion, I can work with you too.
Established and experienced, I assist filmmakers, script writers and students in the screen arts, in all aspects of creating a film-able script to satisfaction. Whether new to the genre or experienced, I can bring you from developing an idea to a finished script, working closely to assure you develop new skills and expertise along the way to further your career in film. I do organized research, can read and assess a script, provide valuable insight and comprehensive notes that strengthen plot, character and dialogue to create good visual storytelling. I also take on larger projects, like ghost-writing or other documentation related to the screen, including episodic breakdowns, character bios, full bibles, treatments or can provide assistance on funding applications. I tutor the fundamentals of screenwriting to new students, growing your creative skills and original voice.
I am able to give skype tutoring for anyone outside of London too.
I'm an option screenwriter. Shockingly, I've never gone to film school! I take comfort in the fact that neither has Quentin Tarantino, Terry Gilliam, Lana and Andy Wachowski, Christopher Nolan, Akira Kurosawa or Stanley Kubrick. You get the picture, ha! What I did do was spend years and years learning by doing, by reading scripts, and eventually, working with experts, honing my craft in anyway I could. And--of course, writing a lot of rubbish no one will ever read. There is no magic pill. Scriptwriting is hard work and you need dedication. It's challenging. But it's fundamental to creating great film. I am active as a film writer, I take on two projects a year, and teaching allows me to pass on my wisdom to the next generation of filmmakers.
