Hi, I am an outgoing person(in a Chinese way) and a Sheffield University Student. I am from South of China. I had trained to become a news reporter so I speak standard mandarin and west-south tongue.

I prefer teaching language in a way that you can use it. So the class will divide into Listening, speaking, reading and writing four parts. The first three-part will be more focus if you are a beginner at learning Chinese. I aim to provide a friendly, quality and useful class to you.

I teach chinese, mandarin, oral expression - chinese, vocabulary - chinese, oral comprehension - chinese, accent reduction-chinese. For the level(s)primary, secondary, GCSE, as level, a level, BTEC, adult education, undergraduate, masters, diploma, doctorate, A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, beginner, intermediate, advanced, professional, kids.
I give lessons in person, at my home or the student's home.
I give lessons by Webcam.

Siwei's Experience

Self-employed English tutor in China, July – Sep 2017
I advertised through social media and personal contacts and found students from Primary school to High School level. I taught 14 hours a  week with preparation and marking accounting for a further 10 hours. For this job to success I needed to take initiative to connect with parents and interact with students, prepare coursework at appropriate levels, set and mark homework, present class material and give feedback to parents.

Assistant to Inquisitor-Public Prosecution Department in China, Jun - Sep 2015
Unpaid summer internship in People’s Procuratorate in Guizhou. Responsibilities including:
Preparing and handing up indictments to court.
Interrogating suspects and recording testimony.
This job gave me the opportunity to work in a complex organization and hugely improved my communication, problem solving and teamwork skills.
Waitress – Harmony Cafe, Sheffield, Aug – Dec 2016
Responsibilities in this part-time job included: dealing with customers, taking orders accurately and cleaning the tables. My shifts were at particularly busy times so I learned to become more efficient and pay careful attention to details as well as further developing my interpersonal skills.

Skills

Flexible and adaptable to different cultures – I changed high school to an international school in China to prepare to study aboard. This helped me to begin to overcome barriers to different culture and language backgrounds. I have participated in two very different education systems.
Good communication skills – My writing and interpersonal skills have improved though group assignments and various presentations in the university and USIC. When I worked as an assistant to the Inquisitor, I had to cooperate with people from
different departments and I improved these skills. As an English tutor, when it comes to speaking practise some students tended to be silent so I found various ways to encourage conversations.
Teamwork – As well as my work experience described above, several of my course modules have giving me team working experience. In the State of Sheffield module, we worked as a group to prepare a presentation on awareness of information safety and CCTV. My role is to prepare questionnaires and interview people on West Street with my team. I learnt to bring my own ideas to the team but to listen to other ideas and come to a consensus.
Problem solving skill – My problem solving skills has improved by taking part in a range of teamwork. One specific experience is that once I worked as a team leader for a fund raising bazaar at high school. At that time my role was to organize the team and make sure the bazaar went well. We all had different ideas about how to do this so I decided that we would vote on every important decision. We raised nearly £240 on that day.
Additional Information
Capable of using several Microsoft softwares like Excel, PowerPoint; as well as being a regular user of WeChat, Facebook and other social media.
Language Skills: Mandarin (First language), Cantonese (fully understand but only speak little) and English (Second language).
