My teaching methodology focusses on sculpting the approach to a student's personal learning style and strengths, and creates pride in personal progress. Lessons are structured around student-led learning and fun, interactive engagement with the topic. Working with students with learning disabilities has taught me to shape a learning environment to suit the particular needs of every single student. I aim to help each student feel a sense of ownership over the material.
I have a Masters from Yale School of Drama, where I was the Cullman Scholar in Directing, and a double first BA in Classics from Oxford University, where I was an academic scholar and President of the Oxford University Dramatic Society. I have been a private tutor in Latin up to A-level, and a drama teacher at Magdalen College School. I have worked in public engagement in the museum sector, designing interactive events designed to help children and young people engage with art and history.

EXPERIENCE TEACHING & WITH YOUNG PEOPLE:
PRIVATE TUTOR with 40 hours tutoring experience to date, ages 11-16
DRAMA TEACHER, Magdalen College School, where I designed and taught a weekly course for 9-11 year olds aimed at helping them grow in confidence and develop communication skills
PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT ASSISTANT, Ashmolean Museum, where I programmed public events using performances, music, and workshops to help children and young people engage with art and history. I also facilitated student projects, helping them to create their own gallery talks, podcasts, and responses to the collections.
I met Lucie at Oxford, where her ferocious intellect and warm generosity were immediately obvious. Her desire to share knowledge and skills at whatever level would best suit her students was in evidence when we collaborated to teach Drama to junior pupils at Magdalen College School – all the boys adored her, developing their confidence and articulacy throughout the course.
Speaking as a friend and colleague, I can't recommend Lucie highly enough – anyone lucky enough to learn from her is sure to be stimulated by her curiosity, passion and depth of knowledge.
Her passion for, interest in and knowledge of the language seem without boundary.
Her excitement about sharing this with a young person is infectious and our sixteen year old certainly caught the bug !
Nobody could have a better tutor for a subject , nor a lovelier person in their home.
Her extra special gift is the way in which she tells the story of the language , her ability to make it relevant and communicate that .
Fortunate be the families who will employ her to help and guide.
