Hi! I’m Le-My, and I’m from London. I am a native speaker in English and Mandarin, and I am also fluent in French. I have a BA Modern Languages (French and Italian) from the University of Oxford and I have spent a considerable amount of time living and working in Paris.
I have been a French tutor for over 5 years now. I have taught at all levels, ranging from complete beginners to advanced, and everything in-between. Lessons are tailored to you and your specific needs. Whether you would like to focus on particular grammar points, have conversation practice, prepare for an upcoming exam, or simply want to improve your overall language level, I would love to help.
I will also be able to share little tips and tricks that I have picked up over the years to help you on your own learning curve. Whilst living in France, I played for a French women’s football team, so if French football vocabulary is something that interests you, this can be an option too.
I have been teaching French for over 5 years now. My past students come from all levels and backgrounds: young children, students preparing for GCSE or A-Level exams, students studying abroad, and adults.
Perhaps the most comforting thing to know is that, once upon a time, I also studied French from scratch, so whatever difficulties you may face, chances are that I will have faced them too, and makes me all the more compassionate and patient as a tutor.

For someone who learnt French as her 4th language I believe, and then going on to at study it at Oxford.. it's obvious that Le My is a highly capable linguist. She spent her summer holidays working in rural France in order to hone her linguistic skills. The fact that she's a Brit that has learnt the French language from scratch (at a later age) and managed to hone it to such a high level, she can empathise with those english speakers trying to work on this romantic language. I've rehearsed with her in the past and I have found her empathy, patience and knowledge of the learning process to have been conducive to many pleasant and productive sessions.
I've been doing 1 or 2 lessons a week with Le-My for about two months and it has honestly helped my spoken French a ton. Most of the lessons are us chatting in "slow French", which is just what I needed. She has also given me "homework" a few times to help with some of the grammar that I still need to learn. Overall, highly recommended. Merci pour tout !
