I have been a tutor for a few years now.
My lesson plans focus on identifying a key topic in the specific exam specification of my pupils and delivering an in depth tutorial on the subject. To supplement this I then focus on exam technique which is an often misunderstood aspect of public exams that makes all the difference on the important exam date. By teaching students not only the content required of the exam paper but also the methodology of how to answer questions in the way the examiner desires I am able to help boost the grades of my pupils.
My main focus is teaching those who are in exam year groups. In specific those who are sitting a school common entrance exam or their GCSEs. Beyond this I specialise in helping prospective medics apply competitively. This tends to be covering the UCAT and BMAT exams as well as interview prep. My aim with medical applicants is to help them craft an application that is going to create the most impact on a University's admission team. My own experience over the past two years in this matter where I was able to secure 4/4 offers to a range of highly competitive schools including the University of Oxford help me to do this.
Exams are a huge part of an individuals life. Nowadays the exams pupils sit quite literally shape their future. As someone who is well in touch with exam culture I always aim to put a student in the best possible position in their academic career.
Exams may indeed be daunting but preparation should not be! Succeeding is well within every pupils reach and in fact often only a lack of experience is what hampers pupils from reaching the highest grades in all facets of school.
Together I am sure we can ensure the best outcomes possible!
My qualifications are listed below:
- 15 A*/ Grade 9s at GCSE
- Predicted 4A* at A Level
- Scored a 3120 in the UCAT placing me in the top 1% Nationally
- Scored a 6.6 Average in the BMAT leading me to secure an offer to study medicine at the University of Oxford
- Received 4/4 interviews and 4/4 offers to study medicine at Oxford, Imperial, St Georges and King's College London
- Studied at Wallington County Grammar School For Boys giving me an in depth understanding of competitive entrance exams
- Studied at Westminster School giving me a comprehensive understanding of the Private School common entrance exams
For Interview prep I usually charge £30/hr because this is a very specialist matter and a lesson requires a lot of personal prep including researching the appropriate target universities. These interview lessons are specifically for those who need help preparing a UCAS Medicine application
