Perhaps the most important thing to note about my teaching methodology is that it is not static; every student learns in a different way, and the key to being a good teacher is finding out what works best for a student.
That being said, there are certain constants in the way I teach. I would first find out what it is that the student is struggling with, and then go a bit deeper and find out exactly why it is that they find this or that topic difficult. Once I have done this, I will produce the appropriate worksheets or materials and we would work through them together. I would then set the student some work for the next session, work that would challenge but not overwhelm them, ensuring steady progress.
Hi, my name is Max and I recently graduated with a 2.1 from the University of Oxford, where I studied French and German Language and Literature.
I absolutely loved my degree, as it allowed me to engage not just with the French language and grammar, as is the case at many Universities, but also to apply them to the study of literature, which is a real passion of mine.
I also spent a year of my degree abroad, split equally between Paris and Berlin, where I was able to bring my language skills up to a fluent level while also immersing myself in the culture of both countries.
I continue to read novels, plays and poetry in both French and German, so I could help potential students with grammar and language, literature, or a combination of the two!
I grew up in London and went to school here, so I know the city well. In my spare time I tend to do a lot of reading and cooking, and I am also a bit of a cinephile!
I studied French and German Literature and Language at Oxford from 2015-2019 and obtained a 2:1.
During my Year abroad, I spent six months working in Paris as a translator and a further six months in Berlin, where I worked for a record label. I spoke almost no English over the course of the year, and lived with locals in both cities, and brought my spoken French and German up to fluent levels.
