My approach to teaching is to help the student understand the key, underlying issues to a problem, or in a subject. This gives you the confidence to tackle and solve future problems.
When tackling a problem or a challenging questions, we first have to split it up. The key to Maths is to be able to turn a problem that you have never seen before into a problem that you know how to solve. I will teach you how to approach a question calmly, split it up into manageable sections, and thus teach you how to solve any similar problem, not just that specific examples. After all, the point of learning is not just learning how to do one specific question, but all questions of that type.
I will explain the steps to solving a problem simply and step-by-step using example questions so you can practise and perfect each step.
Beyond lesson times, I can create specialised problem sheets for you to attempt to work on aspects of maths that you are weaker at and allow you to target specific areas and most effectively improve your maths.
I am an undergraduate studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford, having taken Maths, Economics, History, and Politics at A Level. I also took Maths and Further Maths at GCSE, achieving an A* and an A* with distinction, respectively.
I am used to working with student and after helping friends and younger siblings I chose to begin tutoring online from September 2018. In my last year at school I tutored three GCSE students for Maths, History, and German so I have the experience and enthusiasm for this kind of role!
