I have been an Au Pair in France, teaching English to young children and would now like to continue to teach a little with children and/ or adults who would like to learn english casually, relaxed and in a fun way.
I have been giving lessons, non professionally for 2 years, while living in France, mainly to younger children. I helped them to develop a basic level of English, a starting point which they will continue to progress with in school.
For the past two and a half years I have been working as an Au Pair for a French family, living in Paris, Tahiti and Bordeaux, and am now currently back in the UK, looking for a job to set up a life here.
Because of living in different countries, I have become an extroverted, confident individual who can adapt to most situations, taking responsibility when needed. I like to be part of a group, accepting every ones ideas and working together to achieve a common goal but am also very independent, using initiative to address a task.
Over the past two and a half years I have developed a cultural understanding which only arises from having the courage to fully immerse yourself into another way of life or into another families lifestyle. While living and working closely with the family, I had to be of highest integrity so that the parents would trust me in their home and with their children.
I have been an Au Pair for a French family of two children aged 1 and 3 since September 2014 for two and a half years.
I was living independently in Paris until December 2015, when I moved with the family to Tahiti, French Polynesia for five months until May 2016. I spent three months holiday in the UK, then went with the family to Corsica for one month between August and September 2016. Most recently living independently in Bordeaux for three months until December 2016.
While working with the family, I was primary carer of the two children meaning I had to be incredibly punctual, when taking them to appointments, school, nursery and classes. I had to be adaptable to the ever changing needs of children, and take on the organization of a home (meals, cooking, cleaning) around the busy schedules of the children and parents.
Prior to working in France, between May 2014 and September 2015, I worked at Country Baskets, a florist and craft supplies wholesalers where I was floor staff, using my knowledge of the products to help customers patiently and effectively. I often had to work in a team, when building products while also keeping the shop floor tidy and safe for customers. Whilst working at Country Baskets I was also studying for my A level examinations and had to juggle the two efficiently.
