The French Language is one of the most challenging in the world to learn. A combination of difficult grammar and near unpronounceable words makes it a daunting task for any english speaker to attempt to speak. I approach my tutoring with a practical mindset, students memorise and internalise foreign languages much more efficiently when they fully understand the specificities of a certain concept in conversation and writing. I find it pointless to dole out endless writing and repetition exercises, as tediousness is not the way to go about learning a language. Rather, I seek to find the weak points of a student and focus on using their own personal strengths to counteract them. This can be done by, for example, showing the student how to use what they learn in practical writing and apply it to conversation in a casual manner. This manner of linguistic education is, I believe, the best way to fundamentally grasp the intricacies of a foreign language.
I am currently a student at Georgetown University in the United States, but will be returning to the U.K in May 2018, and am looking for tutoring opportunities in London. I do not have extensive tutoring experience but since my arrival at university I have successfully aided a number of my peers with French, including official weekly classes and coffee chats.

Backpacking along the Washington State Olympic National Park Coast for 3 and a half weeks. Our aim was conservation and along the way, 10 volunteers collected and hiked inland 1400 pounds of marine debris, mainly plastic waste. The experience offered various leadership positions in which I was regularly responsible for navigating the coastline, calculating our route according to tide and weather conditions, and assessing the danger and risk of potential terrains.
