EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

RAF Cosford, Airplay Art Activities Youth Worker- July 2019- Present

I’m work with young people at Airplay Youth Club as an Art Youth Worker.
I organise all different media of art activities to engage young people into participating with the session, this could be to distract them from what’s going on in home life as well as school life.
We use the young people art in and around the youth centre as if they were showcasing their own pieces of art in an art gallery; this in turn builds confidence for the young person in building life skill experience.

The Way Youth Zone – Wolverhampton August 2018- July 2019
I specialize in Ceramics and Glass; to include self-expression into the art sessions delivered, with my best statement “Art is never right or wrong, keep testing/practices your passion” that will build Confidence for young people.

I’ve been working at The Way Youth Zone with the Art’s Team to deliver art sessions of all media also having the opportunity to deliver a workshop for the Wolverhampton Adult College; the adults who attended had different levels of learning difficulties which enabled me to introduce different learning skills to include all.

Another workshop I was lucky to be involved with was ‘Identity’ with Alex Vann and Gareth.
This was to explore who the young people where, their family heritage and interest. We used all different media to create a canvas which express individual ideas.

Freelance Art Activities Coordinator- Working in Partnership The Switch Project- Wolverhampton
I have been lucky enough to work with Pupil Referral Unit over the Easter/Summer holidays introducing Art break-out sessions to young people who were not in full-time school.

This gave me the opportunity to showcase the skills I’ve learned in university, producing workshops that I had complete ownership gave me confidence to pass on skills which enabled the children to apply in their school environment.

INTERESTS
________________________________________
My Passion for the Art’s is to use mixed media and textures within ALL my work, I do not play to the rules of art; I push the boundaries on how far the material will go.

I pay close attention when working with glass on all levels as I continue to create glass art sessions when working with young people as this has been a material that most young people have not worked with before; so I introduce this material as mosaic art and stained glass workshop.

With understanding the behaviours of different materials this has taught me tolerance, patients and acceptance within individuals learning capabilities.

I’ve always been working within my local community holding my own creative classes of mixed media has enabled me to interact with many different age groups and abilities with myself having dyslexia.

This has taught me tolerance, patients and acceptance within individuals learning capability. My goal is to give service users an environment of calm and relaxed surroundings. This will in turn build confidence for free expression and respect on all levels.
