My teaching methodology varies according to the audience, their needs and preferences, whilst striving to keep learning fresh, contextual and engaging.
All lessons are structured to allow students to understand key concepts, digest information and apply their learning so that skills are embedded and transferrable.
I qualified from Manchester University with a degree in Crime and Politics in 2009, paving the way for me PGCE in Social Sciences in 2010. My first teaching job allowed me to graduate from a newly qualified teacher through to Head of Department in this first year, thereby managing all faculty subjects taught across every key stage in the school including PSHE, RE, Psychology and Sociology amongst others.
Since leaving my position in 2016 to work more flexibly across schools, introducing yoga and movement therapy to institutions in the North West, I have continued to work in schools through supply agencies. Teaching short and long-term supply has enabled me to continue augmenting my teaching skills, as well as broaden my subject repertoire and develop extensive experience delivering the new English curriculum.

* Qualities *
I am a hard-working, conscientious individual who is enthusiastic about different subjects and interests. I take on new challenges and embrace opportunities to continue to learn. I have a passion for education and working with communities at grass roots levels, and feel that my strengths lie in my interpersonal and communication skills. Cultural and religious diversity have always formed a part of my environment and my inquisitive, empathetic nature enables me to learn from everyone I meet. I am reflective, honest and approachable; qualities I wish to continue to develop throughout my personal and professional life.
I cannot recommend Sara enough. She is professional, friendly and an absolute expert. She helped both my children achieve their potential and they both looked forward to their tutoring sessions. She is knowledgeable and makes the learning engaging. I thank her for everything she has done for my children.
I worked with Sara teaching ks3/4 and even on my first day I was instantly impressed by her. She is full of life and oozes charisma. We did some team teaching in a difficult school environment and despite the challenges that faced us with this specific cohort, it was undeniable how enraptured the class were when she spoke. She commands a room and connects so personally with young people with what seems like no effort at all. After working together for a few months I actually encouraged my cousin to employ Sara for her daughter who was struggling to engage with her GCSE English courses in her own school. She worked with Sara for around 4 months and ended up making 3 levels of progress from her start of year predictions to her final GCSE results. It may well have been coincidental, however my cousin's daughter used to actively look forward to her weekly meet ups ... Not what you'd expect from a typical 16y old! I saw the material that Sara used with her and I was equally amazed by the both the quality of resources as well as challenge. It was evident from the work that Sara had a really high level of confidence in her, which seemed to rub off and give a struggling teenager the lift in self-confidence she needed, right when it was really needed. My family are so grateful!
I'm a Chair of Governors at a local school and I've been lucky enough to witness Sara in a professional capacity on numerous occasions. She radiates warmth and compassion, which leads to a natural rapport with her students, and she is lucky to be blessed with that gift that makes people feel instantly at ease. Her style is straightforward and uncomplicated which is a huge asset when teaching. I'd have no hesitation at all in recommending Sara.
