My preferred teaching method is using hands on, visual and fun activities to make learning enjoyable. I begin my lessons with a short starter, to gain an understanding of the child's previous knowledge and reinforce concepts from the previous lesson. This may include 'splatting' the correct number with fly swatters. I will then introduce a new concept using a whiteboard and pen so it is represented visually. Then I will work through a few examples with the child, for example adding 2 numbers together using cubes. Then I will provide a game or activity for the child to practice to the new concept. I will round off the session with a different game or asking questions to gain insight of the child's understanding. I will then praise and reward the child's hard work.

I’ve known Jemima for several years and can say she is absolutely trustworthy as a person and as a tutor. She is a fully qualified and practicing school teacher and I know she knows her stuff. I would thoroughly recommend Jemima to anyone who needs support or extending in their education. She’s a top rate teacher and a fantastic person.
