Paul - Coxheath and Hunton - Chamber Music

About the lesson

I am a Professional Viola player who works as a contemporary soloist and chamber musician throughout the UK and Europe. I have experience teaching ages from 4 to 60. Whether you are learning for fun or working for an exam, I can help!

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach classical violin and viola to pupils of all ages and standards. I also give chamber music lessons and piano lessons for early learners.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have an upper class Bmus with honours and a Postgraduate Diploma in Solo Performance with Distinction.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £30 an hour and £18 for half an hour.

- Where do you teach?

I teach at home.

- When are you available?

I am available all week, especially weekends.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach pupils of all ages and standards on the violin and viola, Everyone is welcome whether you want to learn seriously or just for fun.
I mainly work with younger pupils exploring music on the piano for the first time.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

If the pupil wishes to learn the violin or viola for graded exams, I can prepare them for ABRSM and Trinity/Guildhall examination boards. I also can help towards concerts and competitions, working on stage presence, confidence and how to cope with nerves.

On the piano I can introduce beginners to the instrument and take them up to grade 5.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I am available to give lessons over Skype. I would recommend personal lessons as they are more effective but if it is more convenient I am happy to give online tutoring.
