My teaching is built from the perspective of an aspiring singer, which I once was. This will give you the tools you need to unlock your vocal potential and give you the confidence you need to be a singer. As a performer, you need to be singing from the heart as well using technique to better express yourself. Both are at the core of my teaching, which is focused on giving you the freedom to express your feelings through singing.
Typically, one hour of vocal lesson will include:
-5-10 minutes warm-up
-20 minutes technique (scales/exercises)
-10 minutes improvisation
-20 minutes singing (working on a particular song or project of your choice)
Depending on your personal goals, this can change and be adapted. I can also offer advice into songwriting, stage presence and performance, as well as recording yourself at home.
I am a performing artist, singer and songwriter based in London and have a Bachelor's degree in Songwriting. I spend my time singing, at the studio, in writing sessions and performing all around London for the likes of Sofar Sounds.
I have been singing for the past 10 years and performing for over 3 years and can use my experiences to better guide students towards their personal goals.
It is a common saying that 'not everybody can sing', and I disagree with it. Singing is a learnt skill and with passion, drive and work, you will be able to express yourself through singing like you have always wanted.
