Peter Mills - Music Theory & Instant instrument learning - Teaching in Bristol & online worldwide.

Methodology

I will support you or your child with Music & Music Theory exams and coursework, from GCSE to Degree Level.

I also teach 'instant instrument learning', the ability to play an instrument after just a few sessions.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

Music Theory - ABRSM, GCSE, A-Level, Degree Level
Help with exams / coursework - GCSE, A-Level, - Degree Level
Piano - All levels
Guitar - All levels
Electronic Music Production - Producing styles such as House, DnB, Dubstep, EDM, use of software such as Ableton and Logic, sound design / synthesis, and use of hardware such as Ableton's Push 2.
I have 100% exam pass rate.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

With over 15+ years of experience, I have taught over 500+ students music in and around London, Bath and Bristol and online to countries such as India, America and Sweden.
Whilst having achieved formal grades and also a music degree, teaching in the field has given me the greatest teaching skills and the ability to meet each individual exactly where they are at and find their passion for music. I ignite, nurture and empower their passion for learning music.

- How much do you charge?

£47/hr for private students, with a free initial skype consultation for online pupils.
I also take groups of friends, from the same school and class, for a reduced fee per student (e.g. £30/hr/student for a group of 2, £25/hr/student for a group of 3).

- Where do you teach?

I teach at your house and online. I cover Bristol and obviously online there are no limits to distance!

- When are you available?

Monday - morning
Tuesday - morning
Wednesday - morning
Thursday - morning and 3pm-5.30pm
Sunday - afternoon

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

All ages and levels

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I use Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, but preferably Zoom as this is the best. I send you a link to install Zoom, which is very easy, and then a meeting link. During the lesson I can share my screen with you and show you different camera angles, and then afterwards I send you an invite to a google folder which has all the lesson notes and useful links and video clips.

Experience

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have taught all ages and levels, from the youngest beginner aged around 3, to expert adult musicians. I have been improvising on the piano for 30 years, guitar for 22 years, and producing electronic music for 20 years.
I play live in a variety of settings, from improvised solo piano, to synthesisers and DJing using Ableton.
Music is my absolute life passion and I love to empower anyone to see how easy and enjoyable it can be.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Up to date DBS
