- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

- Do you have a personal message for students?
Philosophy is one of the toughest subjects on offer, so it carries great rewards and high risks. Even for the most able students, having an experienced tutor is the surest way to success. One-to-one teaching means I'll always start from what you already understand, even if you think you're completely lost. From there, we'll move quickly up to the syllabus requirements and, if you feel like it, far beyond them.
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have 8 years' experience teaching Philosophy in higher education, and have taught at the University of Reading, Royal Holloway, and the London School of Economics. I also have five years experience as a private tutor, and usually provide my services through the top London agencies (including Bonas Macfarlane, Bright Young Things, Enjoy Education, Gabbitas, and Simply Learning). My experience as an A Level tutor and in higher education makes me an ideal tutor for students applying to study Philosophy at university. In addition, I have many years' experience teaching English as a Foreign Language and have tutored French up to GCSE.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
- Where and with whom did you train?
I have received teacher training from the London School of Economics and Reading University.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
British Philosophical Association
Society for Applied Philosophy
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I have taught students of all ages and levels. Here are some experiences of my Introduction to Philosophy students, in their own words:

"Excellent tutor who made difficult and sometimes dense material more easily understood."
"Laughed a lot. Great discussions."
"Great – Peter was brilliant. A fantastic teacher, really encouraging and facilitative but kept us on course. Please hurry up and finish your PhD and do more teaching!"
"Peter's style and preparation and way of handling discussion were so good. A difficult subject that he made routes through to our understanding. An experience not to be forgotten. Thank you, Peter!"
"The tuition/ leadership from Peter Dennis has been exceptionally accomplished and has led to unusually interesting group discussions"

"Peter's style of teaching guided me through the chosen topics, breaking down each section so we could discuss any aspect of the syllabus I had been struggling with in a clear and comfortable way..."
"...At every point Peter tried to allow me to reach the conclusions of questions with only his guidance, which was far more helpful for me than him simply telling me the answer. Peter's vast range of knowledge meant that discussion could flow easily between different subjects, allowing me to build deeper pictures within my mind of the historical context of different theories or philosophers..."
"...Finally, I found that Peter's teaching was most effective because I felt comfortable talking to him; at no point did I feel self-conscious about asking him anything, and I feel this is quintessential to a successful tutoring relationship."
