I strongly encourage children to solve their problems by themselves and would usually guide them when they have difficulties but never would I give them the answers straight up. I’m patient as I know that students tend to “blank out” under stress. I love incorporating fun elements into lessons and I encourage lots of talking and interaction. Being forceful isn’t a usual option of mine because I love having my students like me and feel comfortable instead of having constant fear and dreading to attend lessons because learning can be a fun experience when the teacher makes it so.
I’m a pharmacy student originating from Malaysia. I’m multilingual and am fluent in English, French, Mandarin and Malay and can read and write in these languages as well.
I have a score of 7,5/9 in IELTS for English , 66,50/100 in DELF for French and scored an A in Malay in a National Exam in 2013. Albeit not learning Mandarin after the age of 12, I speak to my family in Mandarin, and am capable of reading and writing since I learned it on my own by reading a lot.
I’ve previously tutored my brother who’s 12 years younger than me and have had plenty of experience teaching younger children since I do occupy my nephews and nieces as well. I also volunteered at refugee centres, teaching students that were as old as 16 year old.
