I always chat to potential students to find out what they are wanting then build my teaching methodology around that, so it is tailored to each individual. Sometimes this can just be providing 1:1 support, or additional questions to try. I am happy to be flexible to student needs.
I've been tutoring in chemistry for a few years, including teaching a class of international students at a local college their AS-level Chemistry. I have a 1st class integrated Masters degree (MChem) with a year in industry and a PhD in supramolecular/organic chemistry, but have taught across the full range of University topics. I also worked as a drop-in tutor for the Maths Skills Centre run by the University of York.

During this time I was awarded a CODY (Chemistry Outstanding Demonstrator of the Year) Award due to my student centred teaching. I have also worked as a Maths Skills centre drop in tutor for 3 years.
I lectured at a local college to put a class of international students through their AS level chemistry.
I have also worked with various widening participation schemes and as a STEM ambassador for 10 years and now organise and run STEM events to get students engaged about all areas of science, technology, engineering and maths.
