About Peter
When you start school you are full of enthusiasm and curiosity. By the time you finish school, a lot of that has gone. This is a tragedy. Learning new things doesn't stop when school ends. I know 'life long learning' has become a cliché, but it really is a great philosophy. Learning does not have to be a slog. I'm super interested in the philosophy of learning - how we learn and what works best. I use patterns, analogy, metaphor and spaced repetition flash cards. A great lesson for me is when you learn something and so do I. Yes, I'm a teacher, but it works better when we consider ourselves both teachers and learners.

My approach is to put myself in your shoes, and look at it from your perspective. I focus on removing obstacles because I remember what it was like for me to overcome them. A lesson is typically 45 minutes long, there are always exercises that I have developed to make sure you can take a question, solve it, then apply the concept to a question of your own making. This way you know for sure the concept has 'landed'. I've been teaching for 20 years. I really like students, but am less keen on schools! My lessons are for GCSE and A level students.
