I'm a PhD Philosophy Student offering tuition for GCSE, A level and BA Philosophy courses.

Methodology

I welcome all students, no matter what their educational needs, and like to adjust my teaching approach based on what will help my students most.

For students who need to get up to speed with content, I can offer sessions where I present you with ideas and new ways of understanding the topic.

If you need to hone your essay writing technique, or need help either planning or writing coursework, I can offer essay-workshop sessions based on my experience writing and marking high-scoring essays.

If you have already mastered the basics of a topic, and want to explore your ideas and arguments in more detail, I offer lessons based on a debate format, where I will challenge you to articulate your opinions and defend them from criticism. This will build your confidence for public speaking and debating.

Cancellation policy: You can cancel for free any time more than 12 hours before the lesson. If you cancel less than 12 hours before the lesson is due to start, I will charge you half the cost of the lesson (e.g. if the lesson was due to cost £20, I will charge £10 for a cancellation).

Experience

I am studying for a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Southampton. Previously, I studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Brasenose College, University of Oxford, graduating with Upper Second Class Honours. I then moved to the University of Reading, where I passed my Masters in Philosophy with Distinction in 2016.

I have been teaching Philosophy since 2016. I have experience teaching secondary and sixth form students as well as undergraduate philosophy students. I have taught at Reading School, the University of Southampton and King's College London, covering areas including Ethics, Political Philosophy, Epistemology, Metaphysics, and the History of Philosophy.
