My name is Gabby and I am currently studying for a PhD in Leisure Studies at Leeds Beckett University. I have an extensive background in sociology having taught at GCSE Level, AS Level, A-Level and Undergraduate level. I studied Sport and Community Development at Sheffield Hallam (in which I received a First Class Honours) and I got a Masters degree in Sport, Leisure and Culture from Leeds Beckett University. I am confident in teaching basic social theories (such as Feminism, Marxism and Functionalism) and more advanced theories and specialised areas (such as gender studies, Foucault and Research Methods). I like to use new and innovative ways in my lessons which keep students engaged and ready to learn. I also make sure that I focus on students individually and tailor make sessions specifically to them so that they will learn in the best way.
I have a lot of experience teaching various parts of sociology. My degree was in sport based sociology and I currently teach on a social theory module as part of my PhD studies. I am well versed in the AQA A-level syllabus with two years teaching experience at my local sixth form college. I also have taught on a Mass Media module. I am an able teacher who can teach all ages and learning abilities with experience teaching at GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate Level.
