PhD student in maths gives maths & statistics lessons to all levels in Brighton/online

About the lesson

I am a PhD student at the university of Sussex & I also have a first class MMath degree from Sussex. I give one-on-one lessons to students studying mathematics and statistics at all levels (I have a clear DBS check). If you are interested in having lessons with me, I will usually ask for a list of topics you are having the most difficultly with. I will patiently & methodically cover the topics in depth breaking them down to ensure you understand how to approach similar problems rather than just routinely memorizing how to do a particular task. In other words, develop your problem-solving skills.

Reviews:

Nicola: "My son needed guidance and help with certain areas for his maths GCSE (higher level). After providing George with a list, he methodically went through areas of difficulty, explaining them in a clear and invaluably helpful way, ensuring that my son understood each area. George was always polite, efficient and on time. Thank you for all your help."

Libby: "I can thoroughly recommend George as a tutor for A level maths. My son was struggling with his maths at college but George quickly gave him the knowledge and confidence to cope with his college work. Communication between us has been excellent and timely. Most importantly my son is really enjoying his lessons."

Juliette: "I`ve had George for two sessions now and already I can see an improvement in my understanding of Calculus."

Martin: "He is thorough in explaining difficult subjects, and is patient, and willing to go over things again when necessary."

Maria: "George is a very, very professional, reliable great mannered outstanding teacher. So glad for his help."

Thomas: "Going into my second year of economics, the maths requirements rapidly increased, and, due in part to a lack of A-level maths, I found myself struggling. Luckily, I had George to tutor me. His tutoring style was extremely effective, we would discuss beforehand what I wanted to go over, and I would send him any relevant documents from my lectures about things I was not understanding, and he would prepare explanations and worked through examples, and then we would go over similar examples together. We dealt with a wide range of mathematical problems, such as integration by parts, various methods of solving differential equations and comparative static analysis, and all of these topics were handled extremely well and taught excellently. George is punctual and shows a great deal of preparatory work before any lessons, and is then extremely effective at communicating and explaining complicated ideas. He is very knowledgeable and works extremely hard on each lesson. I would highly recommend George for anyone who needs maths help, regardless of the exact subject that you are studying."
