I think that the best and easiest way to learn to solve any problem in Physics or Maths is to have an intuitive grasp of what's going on; to connect concepts together and see the big picture.
I strive to help students build a solid understanding of concepts at a fundamental level, to be confident as possible for your exam and ready to face any problem. Every student is unique, and I can offer you tailored help on problem-solving, clear holistic explanations of difficult ideas and tips for exam preparation from six years of experience.
I find that keeping lessons discursive means that I can give feedback more easily, identifying problem areas to make sure you get the grades you deserve.
I have started tutoring A level students in Liverpool this year. I have also had experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant to first and fourth year undergraduates in Maths and Advanced Mechanics.
As a final-year student, I was an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant to first-year Physics students, giving one-to-one help within classes of 30-40 students.
This year, I'm an academic mentor in the Liverpool Scholars programme, in which Year 12 students are paired up with an academic and given the chance to take part in a range of activities aimed at supporting their entry into higher education.
I graduated in 2017 with a first-class honours degree in Physics from Imperial College London.
I have A*'s in Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry at A level.
Aravinda was a fourth year physics student during my first year at university, he is highly skilled and knowledgable in the field of mathematics. He portrayed this when he taught me Fourier transforms, ordinary differential equations, phasor diagrams and electromagnetics, which I couldn’t understand during lectures. He is also a great teacher as he is able to cater to the various levels of understanding of the people he tutors.
Aravinda has taught me both physics and maths for engineering, including Lamb and guided wave theory, Fourier transforms, and calculus. Having also taught other friends of mine, I can attest that Aravinda tailor-makes his lessons to suit the learning styles of differing students, and is very precise and pre-prepared in his delivery. He takes a very engaging, discussion-oriented, interactive approach to ensure students understand the basics behind larger concepts and draw the logical connections themselves, with his guidance, thus allowing him to figure out exactly what areas to focus on more in his tutoring and thus provide more relevant example questions for students to attempt.
Having been an undergrad junior to him at Imperial College London who then went on to do a year abroad at ETH Zurich, I would also like to vouch for Aravinda's dedication and pure passion for physics which led him to even assist me via video call, with a whiteboard too ready behind him to serve as a visual guide. I recommend his services without hesitation and wish him all the very best!
