I'm a current Physics Masters student at Exeter and I am constantly using physics and maths, even some of the very basics! I would be looking at what they have to learn and use several different methods; visual, audio, kinesthetic/tactile and simple repetition, dependent upon the person. If asked or if I believe needed then expansion upon certain topics always helps understand the core material easier.
