About Philippa
As a physics graduate and student representative I have been involved in tutoring for over four years. I have experience in tutoring at GSCE level through to undergraduate level in physics and mathematics, working with a wide variety of ages and abilities. I like to approach tutoring in a structured and logical manner. I first request information from students about progress in their studies, what material they have covered, where they are struggling, and I use this to devise sessions tailored specifically to individuals. Additionally, I like to ask students what it is they hope to achieve in a given timescale to provide material at the correct pace and level.
Depending on topics and student learning styles, sessions will start from first principles and build at a pace that best suits the individual. Lessons will likely include theory, worked examples, and demonstrations where appropriate to consolidate learning.
