I understand that every student is different and therefore the approach I take to teaching can also change dependent on that.
I like to ensure that every student has a strong foundation in a topic before further details are added, which I believe allows the student to apply their knowledge to a variety of questions and problems.
If one approach to a topic doesn't work, then I'm always happy to take a step back, and tackle the problem from a new angle until the student is happy and confident.
I am a final year PhD student at the University of Edinburgh who graduated with a masters degree in physics from the University of Bristol.
Over the last 4 years I have helped teach numerous undergraduate courses at the University of Edinburgh, ranging from first year courses in Newtonian mechanics to masters-level courses in bio-physics.
